Let's Investigate Dyeing



Maybe C&G whetted your appetite, or you have always wanted to know about the exciting world of colour and cloth and fibres etc.  This weekend will dispel any confusion and reinforce previous knowledge.  It is possible to create over 100 samples during just a short weekend course.  Join us as we discover just ome of the delights of the family of Fibre Reactive Dyes.  Suitable for beginners or those with some experience, the tecnique is simple and all your fears will quickly be allayed.

Norfolk Workshops with Marion Barnett

In a tiny village in Norfolk, UK, there is a studio, called the Little
Green Shed, where you can learn all kinds of art techniques with
friendly textile and mixed media artist, Marion Barnett. Every workshop
is tailored specifically to your requirements, and you have three ways
of choosing what to do.

1. You can attend one of the regular monthly Play Days, each with its
own theme (must be prebooked).

13 June : Simple Bookbinding.
2 August : Paper Making
5 September : Monoprinting
3 October : Collage
7 November : Stocking Fillers
5 December : More Stocking Fillers

2. You can ask me to repeat one of those workshops at a date to suit you.

3. You can have a workshop tailor made for you. Topics include

A day in this fully equipped studio costs £35 per person, including a
light lunch. A group booking for up to 4 people costs £120, weekends or
week days by arrangement. This is not a suitable activity for children
under 14, though children may attend in a family group, under

Stitchfest 2009, Ardingly, W Sussex

Stitchfest 2009 is taking place at the South of England Centre, Ardingly, West Sussex. The doors are open 10.00am - 4.00pm. There will be exhibitions by Branches on the theme "Recreate, Reinvent and Recycle" for the 21st Century. Over 20 stitch related traders will be present, along with workshops, demonstrations and the Madeira Secret Garden project.

The Festival of Quilts (organised with the support of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles) has earned a reputation over the past five years as the largest, most inspiring quilting event in Europe - with good reason!

Meirionnydd Textiles

Meirionnydd Textiles meet once a month all day on the third Saturday of the month in the village hall in Llanelltyd, near Dolgellau.  All are welcome to join, from beginners to more experienced stitchers.  Workshops are held by visiting tutors or by members who willingly share their skills.

 

Minerva Arts Centre

The Minerva Arts Centre in Llanidloes, Wales, is the home of the Quilt Association and its collection of heritage quilts. The Quilts are exhibited from time to time, and are available as a resource for study.  Occasional workshops and other events are held, and it is worth checking regularly so as not to miss anything!   More information can be found by scrolling down here.  Llanidloes is a pleasant town situated in a very beautiful part of Wales, well worth a visit for even more than the Minerva Arts Centre.
